How to Play Mahjong Game Online?

How to play mahjong game online?

In the case of tile games, it is not possible for things to go according to your expectations every time. While playing the mahjong tiles game online, you always think if I had ever made this game, I would have changed certain things. The game has regional differences, but the basic rules of the game are more or less the same. Here is a detailed guide on the mahjong gameplay that can help you better understand the game.

  1. Shuffle the tiles with the face down.
  2. Roll the dice, the player who has the biggest roll is the dealer, and the player to their right starts the game.
  3. Each player selects 36 tiles and arranges them into two sets consisting of 18 tiles each resembling a wall.
  4. The walls are pushed forward by the game, thus, leaving space in the middle of the table for discarded tiles.
  5. Then each player takes his turns, drawing 13 tiles in total from the pool or distributed by the dealer.
  6. The first player draws another tile from the pool to start the mahjong game online, keeping or discarding the new tile so that their total number of tiles remains 13. The players go in a circle by continuing the same process. You can either take a fresh tile or pick up a tile that is discarded by another player.
  7. When a player discards a tile, any player can pick that tile irrespective of their turn to form a Kong or Pong meld. To form a set of chow, the tile has to be discarded by the player who is to your left. If you use a discarded tile in order to make a meld, you will have to announce it and display those tiles to the other players.

  8. A player wins the mahjong online game once their set of tiles has four melds and a pair of tiles. This overall requires a total of 14 tiles.

How to develop mahjong game online?

Effective strategies and continuous practising can help you become the master of the online game Mahjong. Here are the best tips & strategies that you must implement to increase your chances of winning the game.

Prepare well in advance:

Think critically and plan your melds before making any kind of moves. Determine possible sets and runs that you can make, then think about the tiles that must be needed to finish those tiles.

Keep an eye on discarded tiles by other players:

You need to look out for the tiles in the online Mahjong game app that are discarded by the other players. You can pick any of the tiles and create a meld if it is discarded by your opponent. Be prepared to collect such tiles to make meld.

Analyse your Opponent:

Check other player’s tiles they are keeping and placing. You will need to analyse their placement tricks and the type of sets they are building. Carefully look for their actions and make strategic moves by watching their tile movements.

Use Joker Tiles Strategically:

Use joker or wild tiles accordingly. These tiles can help you in finishing sets or run in the Mahjong tiles online game that may be difficult to complete. Save Jokers for such situations in which they can assist you in creating winning sets.

Aim for high-value sets:

The quantity of your sets can affect your scorings. When it is possible, try to form high-value melds like sets consisting of honour tiles or runs with powerful cards. Creating melds strategically can help you score higher in the tile game of mahjong.

Keep track of Tile count:

Throughout the game, keep track of the total number of tiles that have been discarded and melded. Further, you can estimate how many riles are still left in the stockpile and the probability of you drawing a specific tile by doing so. Knowing the total tile numbers, plan your gameplay accordingly.

Consider blocking your opponents:

You should try to stop other players from picking up certain thrown tiles that might be beneficial for you. Try to prevent your opponent from getting the tiles they need if you analyse that those tiles can be collected to make a successful meld.

Keep practising the game:

Just like in the case of any game, the more you play, the more you learn and know new techniques. Every time you play a real mahjong game online you will learn something new and improve your skills.
